Paulina Suárez
Paulina Suárez is the General Director of Ambulante, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes documentary cinema culture as a catalyst for social change. She holds a BA from UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico.) Her PhD research at New York University focused on Mexican cinematic modernity and expanded documentary cultures. Since 2016, Suárez directs all of Ambulante’s initiatives, including its film training program and annual traveling festival, which screens nonfiction works at over 140 venues across Mexico. She has served as juror in multiple international festivals, including Lima International Film Festival, Sundance, Valdivia, and Morelia. Suárez is committed to cinema’s vocation as a public art and medium for social, political, and cultural transformation.
